i needed a question answered shortly My support part of the license for IPB ran out I went on to the support forum to discover that i had been locked out!
Ive discovered i have to pay $25 to gain access to the forum...been told that this is good value as it will entitle me to upgrades and technical support.
Do members think that this is fair.

Unfortunately it really isn't a matter of whether iut is fair or not, it has been the policy of IPS for a while now that the $25.00 support renewal is required.
On a bright note though, you could still be using VB and paying $100.00 annually just to keep using the board...

The $25 gives you access to support tickets (official support from IPS)
You could just renew when you feel the need for the latest version ? (or its needed because of security issues)
And also access to IPSBeyond, although this is seen as an "free extra" for customers with a current support contract .... its mainly customer to customer support only as its not official support forum as IPS do not have a forum based support really anymore (apart from IPSB)
As i read that you are used to VB, its a bit like IPSB = VB.org forum equivalent and theres no real VB.com equivalent forum, only the ticket system now and the official IPS company forums but they are not for support only for suggestions / feedback etc etc (if that makes sense!)
