I have this problem in two IP boards that I'm posting, the one I think is 2.1.x the other is 2.3.x
The problem is that every now and then, every action I try to perform seems like timing out. I write a post and when I click at the post button, nothing happens for 2 minutes or so and then firefox goes to a blank page. Same thing with sending pms, or editing. I have noticed that this mostly happens after I browse a few topics and post some posts, right after startup and opening firefox. It mostly happens in long topics.

Its probably going to be a php memory issue (or perhaps your hosts server is having difficulty)
Ask your host how you can increase the php memory limit

You mean my ISP? It's not MY forum
It happens in three IP boards that I'm using and I have noticed that sometimes (not always) it fixes for a while when I clear cookies.

If its happening on several boards then its probably a java issue
What browser are you using ?
If its IE , check on the Microsoft site for updates.
Also you may want to check the settings for it in the internet options.

Please post a link to a site or two that this happens on
Although i expect this is an issue with your machine and not a site specific issue...
You could try updating your java too > http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp
Also double check your security settings for IE an FF to make sure they are not blocking java.

My Java is enabled and updated, I checked it over. It seems like it's an issue with my machine, because noone else gets it, not even myself when I log on with a dialup connection, for instance.

I can access the top link and the topic options dropdown works, the site is ok.
As its your machine , il move this topic to Technical Chat as its not an IPB issue as such.
I would recommend you install / update any antivirus / antispyware programs you have and run a scan. You can find some here > http://forums.ipbhelpers.com/index.php?showtopic=13574
Also visit the Windows Update site and check for any updates for your OS too.
