I've just tried to transfer my IPB to a new web host following the instructions here: http://community.invisionpower.com/resourc...t-ssh-access-r3

It all seems to have worked successfully but when I try to view the forum it appears as a completely blank page (http://forum.sheffski.co.uk).

I can access the admin login at (www.sheffski.co.uk/forum/admin.php) and login but then another blank page appears.

Any ideas as to what I'm doing wrong? I'm getting a little bit frustrated! I'm using IPB 1.1.2 and plan to upgrade to a newer version once this transfer has completed.

Surely this is it?

http://forum.sheffski.co.uk

The original forum is at http://forum.srjp.com

All the files etc will be in http://www.sheffski.co.uk/forum/

and the originals are at http://www.srjp.com/forum/

I'm using Hostpapa as my new webhost: www.hostpapa.co.uk

Hope that all helps!

Thank you for your information. Judging from the links it would appear that you are missing forum files relevant to your forum due to the transfer not moving everything.

If you have a copy of your V1.1.2, I would recommend copying it to your forum directory to insure that all your forum files are there and should resolve your issue.

Cool, I was hoping that was the problem.

I'll give it another try and hopefully it'll work.

Thanks

I've re-uploaded the forum, making sure that every file has been copied across. I'm now getting the following error message when I try to display http://forum.sheffski.co.uk

mySQL query error: SELECT mod.mid as is_mod, m.id, m.name, m.mgroup, m.password, m.email, m.allow_post, m.view_sigs, m.view_avs, m.view_pop, m.view_img, m.auto_track,
m.mod_posts, m.language, m.skin, m.new_msg, m.show_popup, m.msg_total, m.time_offset, m.posts, m.joined, m.last_post,
m.last_visit, m.last_activity, m.dst_in_use, m.view_prefs, g.*
FROM ibf_members m
LEFT JOIN ibf_groups g ON (g.g_id=m.mgroup)
LEFT JOIN ibf_moderators mod ON (mod.member_id=m.id OR mod.group_id=m.mgroup )
WHERE m.id='147'

mySQL error: You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'mod ON (mod.member_id=m.id OR mod.group_id=m.mgroup )
WHERE m.' at line 6
mySQL error code: 1064

I've tried following the advice here: http://forums.powweb.com/showthread.php?t=45494
and here: http://forum.dreamhosters.com/troubleshoot...ped-Working.htm

and this results in the completely blank page being displayed.

Any ideas what I need to do to fix it?

Having looked at the forum it does seem to be a problem when you try to login so anyone trying to help won't see it.

I get the following screenshot when logged in.

When you moved your forum from one server to the other, did you make a backup of your database and restore it to your new location?

The only other thing I would be able to suggest would be to check you global_config.php file (in the forum root directory) and make sure that everything is pointing to the new server path.

Otherwise, I don't know what else to suggest than to backup your database, re-install the forum and add the database. Something obviously has not properly transferred from the move.
