Okay, so I am running IPB 3, and there is a problem when I try to access my forum. I didn't have this problem a few days ago, it just suddenly appeared. When viewing my forum as a guest, I am allowed to see the categories and such. When I get to the login page I log in and I get this message:

"Fatal error: Call to undefined method skin_global_4::quickSearch() in /home/*******/public_html/community/cache/skin_cache/cacheid_4/skin_global.php on line 238"

So I am assuming there is a scripting or coding problem, but I just can't seem to fix it. I have tried using a different default skin in hopes that would fix the problem, yet it will not. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

-Andrew

I would recommend re-uploading the IPS forum forums to your forum via FTP, overwriting your existing files. The reason being, that you most likely have some corrupt files and by re-uploading the default files will allow any corrupt files to be overwritten and corrected.

This problem happens when the cache folder thsat the skin is in isn't writable. When you install the skin, watch the little report and chmod the files it details as unwritable. Then rerun the skin install, and keep going until you have completed the skin install.

I have had to do this tonight a few times as I battle with updating our board.
